About Us
Established in 1990, Semley Auctioneers has become a recognised venue for buying and selling Antiques & Fine Art.
In the 35 years since the business began, there has been a considerable change in market trends and, significantly, in encompassing buyers and collectors worldwide through the internet. Semley Auctioneers has recognised these changes and evolved with them. Each and every sale catalogue is hosted on four websites approximately two weeks prior to the sale day, ensuring maximum exposure to both national and international buyers and resulting in several record prices in recent years. The business has expanded from one saleroom to three salerooms, covering an area of 8,500 square feet, with an additional offices and reception now open in South Kensington, London and Wimborne town center.

Semley Auctioneers can provide expert advice on all aspects of Antiques & Fine Art, from free verbal valuations, either by a full-time valuer or by a recognised consultant, to restoration, storage and shipping. Written valuations are undertaken at competitive rates for Insurance, Probate, Family Division and Taxation.

Semley Auctioneers covers a wide area across the South and up into the Midlands, with recent large collections from Herefordshire and Cornwall, as well as regular collections from London and the Home Counties.

Semley Auctioneers offers a professional ‘one-stop’ service to Solicitors and Executors, from the initial Probate Valuation to liaising with beneficiaries and clearing the property, including disposing or arranging charitable donation of un-saleable items. A full inventory of saleable items is provided, detailing in which sales they are entered, either a Specialist sale, a monthly Antique Furniture & Objects sale, or a General Antiques & Household Chattels sale. Short-term storage is also available for bequests awaiting collection or delivery. A professional home cleaning service may be employed where necessary.
